Netherlands - Mexico
Netherlands 2 - 1 Mexico
Alfred Hitchcock couldn't write a thriller with so much suspence as this game. After full time everybody in the Netherlands were still shaking. What a game. Again in the first half the Dutch team let the opponent come so the Mexican team had several changes to take the lead but they didn't took advantage of that. But in the second half the Mexican did make the goal who give them the lead in the match.
Giovani Dos Santos sets Mexico in the lead by 0 - 1
So once again the Dutch had to catch up with there opponent. But as always they go into the highest gear and it was a matter of time that they make a goal. And in the 87 minute Wesley Sneijder make the goal everybody was waiting for in the Netherlands.
Wesley Sneijder put the Dutch along side the Mexican 1 - 1
So everybody was waiting for the extra time when Arjen Robben get a penalty. I'm not going to join the discussion if it was a real penalty or not. It's always a real penalty for the team that gets one and it's not a penalty for the opponent. Let everybody diside for themselfs.
The fact is he was giving a penalty by the referee in the overtime of the game and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar was the man who was going to take it. But before he could take it time was tikking away because the Mexican players tried everything to get him out of his concentration.
But in the 92 minute of the match he did that what he had to do. He scored and give the Netherlands the lead in the game.
The keeper of Mexico, Guillermo Ochoa, didn't have any change but never the less he keeped a great match.
After 96 minutes the game was over and it was Netherlands 2 - Mexico 1.
So the next opponent is Costa Rica it will be another thriller written by the Dutch coach Louis van Gaal.
10 million people watched the game in the Netherlands.
